Eddie Vedder Performs Solo Version of Pearl Jam's 'River Cross' For 'One World' Benefit

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder performed a spine-chilling solo version of "River Cross" at the One World: Together at Home benefit event on Saturday night (Apr. 18).
Dressed in a black shirt and black ballcap and surrounded by candles, Eddie Vedder performed the song -- which appears on Pearl Jam's Gigaton album -- with his own groaning organ work as the lone accompaniment. The song's closing refrain of "Share the light/ Won't hold us down," delivered in Vedder's signature wail, proved a powerful message for a very fragile cultural moment.
Curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga and organized by Global Citizen, the One World: Together at Home special is airing across CBS, ABC and NBC on Saturday night, with proceeds aimed "to support frontline healthcare workers and the WHO."
Pearl Jam's Gigaton set was released on March 27, and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
